From the 1st -6th of April 2011, Clinton Osbourn, Mamelani's youth coordinator presented a paper on "The need for support for Youth Leaving Care" as part of the Youth Leaving Care stream of the conference. The conference was hosted by SOS Children's Vilaages and included SOS Children's Villages from around the globe, as well as other relevant organisations. The paper was well received, with inquiries about replicating the model elsewhere in Africa - and we are excited for the potential partnerships that have been created. We learnt a lot about different apporaches utilised by other organisations in other countries. Clinton also assisted on the pre-conference programme, helping to prepare youth who have left care to participate, and facilitate presentations and workshops within the conference.
